Six Sentence Sunday January 8

Yea! It’s Sunday and time for Six Sentence Sunday

Every week participants post six sentences from something they are writing – or have written. It’s a lot of fun and really a great way to meet new writers!

And I’ve met some terrific people. Thank you !

Be sure to check out the other great participants and thanks so much for stopping by.

I’m baaaack – missed you guys!

Continuing with the Devils Mistress.

One dreary Sunday having just watched a re-run of Buffy, she kiddingly asks him if he’s ever dated a vampire. He replies in the affirmative. He met Alicia in 1930s Chicago; she was beautiful and they spent the night together. But when she followed him to work the next evening it didn’t go too well.

“I felt a rush of air and all of a sudden Alicia was there, bent over, slurping and panting, her fangs dug into the mobster.

She was so fast that even I did not see her.

Though it took but a moment to realise what she had wrought.

‘You drained him! Damn it you stupid undead,’ I screamed.

The soul did not get out, I did not send it on and since the client was dead, and not going to be turned into a vampire either, the soul got trapped in him”

The Devil’s Mistress, a paranormal romance, is about an unlucky in love woman and a man who works in mid-management for the Devil. He’s the one who dispatches souls to his boss, Mr. D. She vows to restore her lover’s humanity and not lose him in the process. The story is told entirely from her point of view.

I hope he didn’t get in trouble with Mr. D for that. And I take it Alicia didn’t fare too well either. Though it was sort of funny for him to call her “stupid undead.” LOL Great six, Sue. 🙂

  2. Sue says:

Well he went to the sweat shop of Hell and you’ll have to wait for Alica’s fate 😀

  3. Juli Hoffman says:

“The soul got trapped in him”? Interesting! OK, you’ve got me curious! Interesting six! Take care, Sue! 😉

  4. Sue says:

the soul can’t stay in the body – it has to go out of the body – so the soul collector is screwed 😀

  5. ah crud, missed sss this week – but looks like you’re right on form 😉 Still love these two! (Mistress and D that is, not Alicia, LOL! though she is an interesting character as well 😉 )

  6. Jayel Kaye says:

I love the concept of the trapped soul.

  7. Ruthie Knox says:

“Damn it, you stupid undead!” — Cute!

  8. Gem Sivad says:

What happens to a trapped soul? You really have me intrigued on a lot of levels here. Great six!

  9. Zee Monodee says:

Yikes! This must’ve been a pickle, esp with the boss!

  10. That sounds like it’ll be a problem. What happens if a soul does get trapped?

  11. Cate Masters says:

Yikes, wouldn’t want to be trapped in a dead body, even my own! Hope he finds a way to spring that soul loose. Looking forward to more!

  12. A very interesting scene. It’s not often someone happens upon a vampire feeding and stays alive, let alone speaks against it! Glad to have you back, Sue.

  13. Nothing like a stupid undead to make you smile:)…nice six.

  14. J.C. Martin says:

Uh-oh… That does not sound like a good position for the soul to be in! Great six, though I think the second and third paragraphs could be combined into one sentence.

  15. She’s been thoroughly scolded, but she doesn’t seem repentant at all. Great 6!

  16. What a twist of events! Great six! 😉

  17. epbeaumont says:

The thing that I love about this dialogue is that it sounds just like workplace beefing… except that the workplace is Hell. So even if the subject matter is grim, the manner makes me laugh. 🙂

  18. Sometimes the undead can be so annoying! Fun story. 🙂

  19. Guilie says:

Funny six, Sue–thanks for sharing! Wonder how it ended for Alicia and your protag–guess we’ll find out more next week 🙂

  20. Lynne Murray says:

I think our heroine, the current girlfriend, might be about to learn what happens when someone (former vampire girlfriend Alicia) messes with her boyfriend’s work–it can’t be good. Interesting concept of a mobster lost soul. An intriguing six!

    • Sue says:

the fact that the victim is a mobster is not relavent. Yeah she knows not to mess with his work, but she still enjoys messing with him 😀

  21. Alix Cameron says:

Wow, I loved it! I want more..

  22. J.A. Beard says:

Ah, that’s an interesting angle on vampires. There really are somethings worse than death.

  23. gayleramage says:

A trapped soul? Ooh, this sounds like a great story. 🙂
