Yea! It’s Sunday and time for Six Sentence Sunday
Every week participants post six sentences from something they are writing – or have written. It’s a lot of fun and really a great way to meet new writers!
And I’ve met some terrific people. Thank you !
Be sure to check out the other great participants and thanks so much for stopping by.
Still with The Devil’s Mistress. Apparently, when I started this draft, I forgot to include their first kiss until a friend reminded me. Thank you very much!
The day after they met, he calls inviting her to the theatre that night. Yes, it is last minute. But she reluctantly accepts. The “Yes” slid from her mouth without her brain having a say in the matter. Set up: He picked her up at home and they cabbed the short distance to the theatre.
After the play ended we walked toward the exit.
“Thank you I enjoyed that very much.”
“If you enjoyed it, we will go more frequently.”
With his hand at the small of my back, he steered me to the car sitting at the curb.
When we arrived at my house he got out, and walked me to the door, though the taxi did not leave.
Once on the porch he cupped my face with his hands.
A wonderful tease of what was shaping up to be a lovely kiss!

Hello! thanks for the visit
All anticipation this week. Where’s the kiss!? Fun six. 🙂
Patience is a virtue Ruthie…
And I still have to wait for the kiss! I love that he seems to be claiming her–love that hand on the small of the back–already. Some people are just meant to be together. Lovely six!
Why thank you – I stuck that in at the last minute – yes they are made for each other 😀
a great teasing six!
Thanks Alix 😀
You’re leading us on…of course! Fun 6!
but of course 😀
I love that they went to the theater–a very classy date, to be expected. I love the anticipation of this kiss, though not that we didn’t get to see it. Next week, please?
Sorry not next week….
I wonder if the taxi will leave without him in it…! Great snippet!

Oh, continue please! 🙂
I shall – thanks!
Nice tease. He seems elegantly refined. A gentleman. 🙂
Yes – exactly – he is an old world gentleman 😀
I know what comes next. 😉 Will we see it next week?
Well as usual I’ve changed it – come back next week and we shall see 😀
Ahhh, so romantic, flirtatious anticipation. Now almost a kiss! A sweet six!
Thanks for the lovely comment
And… you can’t leave us there!
Oh yes I can 😀
I love this scene! Great first kiss setup. Too bad we didn’t get the kiss, too, LOL! Can’t wait to read her response! 😉
