Six Sentence Sunday Oct 14

Yea! It’s Sunday and time for Six Sentence Sunday

Every week participants post six sentences from something they are writing – or have written. It’s a lot of fun and really a great way to meet new writers!

And I’ve met some terrific people. Thank you !

Be sure to check out the other great participants and thanks so much for stopping by.

The Misfits is a group of four couples, consisting of four who work as part of the mid-management team for the devil, Mr.D, as soul collectors, and their partners, who are human.

One couple is Eve and Victor. At this point I am not offering snippets of how they met, it’s an entire chapter and still in note mode. Last week we shared Eve’s thoughts before she met Victor, he’s an agent. Today we see Eve through Charles’ (human) POV. They’ve been friends for five years and it’s the evening they are all gathered together to welcome Phoebe to the group.

Charles realised Eve was speaking to Phoebe.

This should be interesting.

He knew the two women would have had nothing to chat about five years ago.

Eve looked terrific in her tight jeans and silk shirt that showed off her curves, unlike her former wardrobe of haphazardly slapped on pieces of clothing.

Since she met Victor her self-confidence had risen immensely, and the change delighted Charles.

She spoke her mind fearlessly to the point of audaciousness; though when she felt uncomfortable, she reverted to her former insecurity.

  1. Jenna Jaxon says:

Charles is very observant. It’s helpful to see Eve through his eyes, because someone outside the releationship is more objective, even if he likes her. In some ways, we get a better take on her personality from an outsider POV. Nice six!

    • Sue says:

charles and Eve have been good friends for five years. Their friendship was cemented when they were out togeether two years ago and met Beth and Victor. Now Charles and Beth and Eve and Victor are part of the same circle of friends.

  2. Jessica Subject says:

It’s interesting how someone can shape a person into an entirely different person. Nice six!

  3. Carrie Crain says:

I like how Charles quietly observes Eve while she speaks to another. He quickly assesses her without her knowledge. I wonder what Charles will do with his info?!

  4. Vivien Dean says:

Friends are either the worst enablers or best observers. Very telling no matter which perspective is chosen. Excellent use of it here.

  5. Brenda Barry says:

I love a man who is observant and she doesn’t seem to know he’s checking her out. Can’t wait to see what happens next week. Fantastic Six. 🙂

  6. You packed a lot of info into your six….loved learning about Eve through Charles observations.

  7. Zee Monodee says:

Love how you portray Eve here 🙂 Well done

  8. Gotta love a woman who speaks her mind 🙂

  9. 😀 Nice contrast between before and after

  10. Talk about checking this woman out… I like that he not only notices her clothes, but the recognizes her insecurities, too. Great six!

  11. Oh, I like the insight into her character.

  12. Wow – she sounds so different from how she was in last week’s snippet! Nice insight into her, and her lingering insecurities. 🙂

  13. Gem says:

Through another’s eyes we learn Eve’s metamorphosis. Great six!

  14. Nice peek into Eve’s personality! Clothes slapped on sounds like how I normally dress 😉

  15. Intriguing six. I like seeing a character’s personality presented through another one’s viewpoint. This is even more interesting since there’s a lot of history between them. 🙂

  16. Heather Boyd says:

An observant male? Cool. Love men who pay attention.

  17. I do love an ensemble cast! Great to see the characters through the eyes of their friends/enemies/lovers. Insightful six!

  18. He watches her pretty closely. Just observant, or something more? It’s interesting to see how the group goes together and to see it from different POVs.

  19. J.A. Beard says:

The fact that he’s so pleased with her self-confidence is a good sign.
