Yea! It’s Sunday and time for Six Sentence Sunday
Every week participants post six sentences from something they are writing – or have written. It’s a lot of fun and really a great way to meet new writers!
And I’ve met some terrific people. Thank you !
Be sure to check out the other great participants and thanks so much for stopping by.
set up: Victor is the homeowner, Charles is a friend. Three couples are awaiting the arrival of Gideon and Phoebe, who they haven’t met. It’s a slow chapter but a necessary one.
The door bell chimed the opening bars of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony.
“That must be Gideon, at last.”
Charles rose from the navy blue leather couch, brushed peanut salt from his hands and strode quickly to the entrance-way.
Judging from the high-pitched titters and deep murmurs flowing from the kitchen, Victor and Eve were occupied with more than food preparation.
He shook his head in amusement.
The couple in the kitchen had been together for two years yet they still acted like teenagers on occasion.; and come to think of it people had accused him and Beth, also together for two years, of the same thing, at times.
Wonderful six
Thanks for the visit 😀
The details in this are awesome! I love the peanut salt, and I hope no one is allergic to peanuts. Great six!
thanks Kate.
Loved your six Sue…I felt like I was right there seeing the entire scene!

Great characterization as always, Sue. You simply bring the characters to life before our eyes! I could so see dusting the peanut salt from his hands. Such a realistic movement–and a small detail that puts the reader in the moment. Well done!

You’ve got a great talent for putting the reader in the scene effortlessly. And Kate was right–great details.
