Six Sentence Sunday Dec 9

Yea! It’s Sunday and time for Six Sentence Sunday

Every week participants post six sentences from something they are writing – or have written. It’s a lot of fun and really a great way to meet new writers!

And I’ve met some terrific people. Thank you !

Be sure to check out the other great participants and thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Hanukkah

The Misfits is a group of four couples, consisting of four who work as part of the mid-management team for the devil, Mr.D, as soul collectors, and their partners, who are human.

Set up: Two years ago. The night two of the couples from the Misfits met. Victor and Beth are both devil’s agents. The location is London Ontario.
(Victor is French and about 200 years old and Beth about 50 hence the new technology remark)

“Bon Jour Beth it is me Victor.”
“ Yes, I can see that since your number came up on my caller ID. I love the new technology. What is up?”

“I do not have a job site until later tonight, and hope you might accompany me to hear some music and poetry at Maggie’s Place this evening. It would be good to go with a friend and not alone.”

(yes, yes I know. A soul collector who doesn’t wish to be alone. Well these are very special people.)

EDIT: due to six sentence restriction, this snippet may not be clear. Beth and Victor are friends. Next week I will introduce Charles and Eve, who eventually become their human partners.

  1. Jenna Jaxon says:

So they end up having a very good time at Maggie’s Place? Cool. How much notice do they get that a soul is coming their way? Victor seems to know some time in advance. Interesting ideas about who knows what and when. 🙂 Nice six!

  2. Jessica Subject says:

Music and poetry? Sounds like a romantic evening. 🙂

  3. Lisa Fox says:

Sounds like a lovely evening to me!

  4. Elin Gregory says:

Even the minions of the Devil deserve a night off. Nice 6.

  5. And a good time was had by all 🙂 Nice snippet!

  6. Kate Warren says:

I think it makes sense for a soul collector to be lonely. After all, they are probably warned not to bond with any of the souls they collect, or maybe even mortals because they could some day be called to collect the soul of a friend, and that wouldn’t go over well.

  7. Lindsay says:

Sounds like they’re heading for a nice romantic evening.

  8. Vivien Dean says:

Everyone needs someone. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  9. Paula Martin says:

Interesting, epecially the idea of soul collectors having some time out together to listen to music and poetry.

  10. Sounds like they have a nice evening ahead of them!

  11. Interesting six! The premise of your story is so intriguing. I love reading about their lives each week.

  12. Cara Bristol says:

For devil’s agents, they’re such ordinary people.

  13. Gem Sivad says:

They treat the job like well, a job. Love it!

  14. Heather Boyd says:

I love the formal tone of the dialogue. Really ages the pair.

  15. You have the makings of a very interesting story here! Can’t wait to see how it progresses.

  16. I like that we get to see a soul collector and human as friends, not paired together. It’s an interesting dynamic.
